He is himself an internationally recognised leader in shipping and international trade with over 30 years experience in mediation, arbitration and litigation. He is also internationally recognised as an expert in piracy, e-commerce (including blockchain), cybercrime, security and terrorism issues in the maritime field.

Mark Fortnum is a chartered Master Mariner and holds an MBA with Distinction from London City University. He has 35 years of broad marine operational, commercial and strategic experience, in shipping and marine terminals through oil majors and marine contracting. He's held industry board level appointments at OCIMF, SIGTTO and the MNTB, and successfully delivered global leadership roles in Europe, Middle East and Far East, skilfully balancing the operational, financial and cultural needs of the business.  Mark established StoneFort Marine with Matt in 2021.

StoneFort Marine is a marine consultancy providing a range of services in the global tanker shipping industry based on a combined 60 years’ of industry experience.

Grant Hunter is BIMCO’s Head of Contracts and Clauses, responsible for overseeing the development, revision and promotion of BIMCO’s wide range of internationally used standard contracts and clauses. He has worked in the shipping industry for 40 years. Grant’s career in the shipping industry spans over 40 years beginning as a deck cadet with Scottish shipping company the Ben Line Steamers Ltd, followed by eight years working ashore in the commercial and operations department of P&O Bulk Shipping in London. He has worked for BIMCO since 1997. He has a Master’s degree in maritime policy and law from the London School of Economics.

BIMCO is the world’s largest direct-membership organisation for shipowners, charterers, shipbrokers and agents. In total, around 60% of the world’s merchant fleet is a BIMCO member, measured by tonnage.

James Valentine is a retired Coast Guard officer with over 20 years of experience in maritime data and analysis. He has held positions overseeing vessel and passenger screening procedures, including during the Ebola Outbreak of 2014. 

The mission of the U.S. Coast Guard is to protect the public, the environment, and U.S. economic interests — in the nation's ports and waterways, along the coast, on international waters, or in any maritime region as required to support national security.

Didier Valet is an experienced executive in global financial institutions, notably at Societe Generale where he held the following positions: Group Deputy CEO, Head of CIB, Group CFO. He has an extensive track record of transforming and growing franchises while leveraging new technologies. Presently, Didier holds the position of Chairman for Xanthe Conseil, Chairman of the Board April Group and Senior Advisors with CVC Capital Partners and Bain & Company. Additionally, he is very active as a business angel across the FinTech sector. Didier received an undergraduate degree from Ecole Polytechnique and an undergraduate degree from Ecole Nationale de la Statistique & de l'Administration.
